Twiggy / Host
I was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago (Moruga) to be exact. As
an only child to my mom who was a single mother most of my childhood days
were spent with my grandmother. I was introduced to music at a very young age
as I had an uncle who would frequently purchase Vinyl Records of singers like
Eddie Lovette, Cynthia Schloss, Swamp Dogg, Lionel Richie and Al Green just to
name a few. It was at that time that I realized that I had a love for music. As a
young teen, I was exposed to having a vocal coach and also played the steel pan at
carnival time for school panorama.
I am a “carnival baby” as some would say as I started playing mas at a very young
age and still continue to this day. I was the Queen of Baltimore Carnival in 2016
and I also take part in charity events and local shows whenever there are any
Trinidad artistes in the DMV area showcasing our culture.
I was inspired to become a radio host by guest appearing on someone else’s show
as the winner of the Queen of Baltimore Carnival and fell immediately in love with
it. I am a very outgoing, friendly, and compassionate person. I love meeting people
from all different walks of life. I love our culture and different genres of music.
My love for supporting other people surpasses any other and I would love to use
this platform to showcase the many talents of our Caribbean people.
